In Memory of Neva Fickling
“Fantasy Fare” will pay tribute to one of the Symphony’s greatest and most beloved supporters, the late Neva Fickling. Guest artist Chenny Gan will perform Khachaturian’s Toccata, which was the piano solo that won Neva the talent portion of the Miss America pageant. Chenny will also perform the Liszt Hungarian Fantasy with the orchestra, a piece which Neva performed with the Atlanta Symphony towards the end of her reign as Miss America. From the virtuosic Capriccio Espagnol to the thrilling finale of Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, you’ll be on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Guest organist and Macon native, Robert McCormick, grandson of Mary Jean and Charlie Yates, will join us for two of the pieces, including the Organ Symphony by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns. Plentiful percussion in each piece will leave you energized and refreshed!
