Thank You For Flaunting

Wow. Just wow.

I really don’t know what else to say- other than THANK YOU. Thank you to Mint boutique from Dublin for asking me to dinner which led to the conversation to give me the idea to do this. Thank you to Mechel McKinley who answered my text pretty much immediately with a “hell yeah let’s do this”. Thank you to Aubrey Newby and Damaste Real Estate for hosting us with the space. Thank you to Alex Morrison with Macon Urban Development Authority for all of his assistance. Thank you to Tess Harper of both Macon Street Macon and the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce.

Thank you to the boutiques for participating: Mint, Blush Kennesaw, Rumor, Karats and Keepsakes, Betsy Pittard Designs, Stella & Dot, Spa Medical/Vein Specialists of the South. Thank you to all of the boutiques who contacted us with interest in participating the next time.

Thank you to my volunteers, many of you were last minute additions from my Facebook post… I could NOT have survived without yall.

Thank you to Jackie Wright at William Alexander Salon for taking my very last minute day before the event text and fitting me in for a badly needed hair color and styling (I will blog about that later cause I had really let myself down on the hair color).

Thank you to my Mom for forcing me to eat lunch (not on the run either) and actually sit down a minuter and rest. Thank you to William Wilkins for picking up my shoes from the shoe repair place and dealing with me almost having a meltdown because they had temporarily LOST MY SHOES. Thank you also to my Mom for coming all the way back across town after I realized I left my keys in her car, and to Julie of Karats for picking me up from Jittery Joe’s where I was stuck so I could unlock the doors for everyone. (I’ll write a blog post later about what a cluster f I managed to have in the middle of all this- it’s quite amusing in hindsight.)

Thank you to the local media outlets, specifically Harold Goodridge of The Telegraph, Bernie O’Donnell at 13WMAZ, Ashley Minelli at 41NBC, Adam Ragusea and Josephine Bennett at GPB, Gentleman George and Catherine Aplin at Cumulus, and Chase Ambrose and Amber Jones at Newscentral.

Thank you to the Macon Arts Alliance, the 567, and NewTown Macon for sharing your evening with us and cross promoting. Thank you to Leila and Tim Regan-Porter for bringing visitor Sophia Bastian by, she was lovely to speak with.

Thank you to everyone who set foot through the doors- I’m so sorry that I didn’t get to introduce myself to everyone but trust me, I wanted to. Yall are the ones who made this event worth it for the participants.

I have to say, this event is one of those that makes me proud to live in Macon. We had people who never set foot downtown come to our event, we had people who are regulars come through, we had people who had never been to the north Macon and out of town stores get to see them. This just shows what we are capable of here. I have no idea how many people came to our event, I could make a guess but it would probably be wrong, but we put this together just right about a month. WOW. So many people came together to make this happen. It is one of my proudest moment of being a Maconite- and trust me, there are many.

SO MUCH love to all yall…
